About this Blog
Welcome to my Appliance Repair Blog where I post about appliance related topics and repairs from a technicians perspective. As a professional appliance technician and trainer, I pride myself on helping consumers like you get the most out of your appliances. I started writing this blog as a means to detail my daily service adventures, and to document some of the more common appliance repairs. It has quickly grown with your support to become a technical resource for DIY’er and professional technicians alike. In each post you will find repair and service information that can help you better understand how your appliances work, and I describe some of the more common failures you may encounter. Use it to help become better informed when you do need professional assistance.
I have been in the field service industry for over 21 years in the Portland Oregon metro area. I have worked for a few of the areas better known service companies as a technician, trainer, and even spent some time as a service manager. I currently am the owner of my own service company All Tech Appliance Service, along with my wife and work hard providing good quality service to our customers. Because of my prior training role and desire for information, I have developed good relationships with many industry and manufacturer representatives. My skills are constantly updated at annual conventions and in my daily role as teacher and mentor. Aside from numerous manufacturer training certificates, and hours of classroom training, I hold an AAS degree is Electrical Engineering Technology from ITT Technical Institute, and an EPA refrigeration certificate. I am a Master Certified Appliance Professional (M-CAP) sanctioned by the Professional Service Association, and a current member of PSA and the Marcone Service Association. I love to travel with my family to our favorite destinations, Disneyland & Las Vegas, and I do enjoy relaxing with a good book.
